Nick Jonas starts his skin-care routine—and therefore, his Beauty Secrets video—by going for a dip. Before dunking his face in icy cold water, he gives credit where it’s due. His brother Joe was actually the one who introduced him to the Face Tub—a container designed specifically for facial cold plunges—while they were on tour. Now, Jonas calls it “the most exciting part” of his day. “It helps with inflammation…and puffiness,” he notes while going through rounds of face plunging, adding that it also “awakens the vagus nerve,” which alerts your brain it’s time to get going.
The father, singer, and actor—who first entered the spotlight in the mid-2000s with the Jonas Brothers—wasn’t always a skin-care guy. That developed with age. “I think it’s great to have rituals, little things that help you approach your day and your life with [a] positive feeling,” he says. “General wellness is something everyone should prioritize, just for, whatever it is, five to 10 minutes a day.” These days, taking care of your skin and body is a family matter.
His brothers are diligent about self-care too. “Joe does a great job at taking care of his skin, always has,” Nick says. “And then Kevin, he’s got a really good routine now with his vitamins and supplements.”
And while he wraps up his routine in a way many people do—spritzing on fragrance—his application technique veers into the unusual. “I overapply,” he shares while generously spritzing Louis Vuitton’s L’Immensité cologne directly onto his skin. Scent is something he loves in general; he also lists the iconic Baies candle from Diptyque as a fragrance that he finds comforting whenever he may be a little homesick: “It’s nice to find ways when you’re traveling as much as we do to make wherever you are feel a bit more like home.”
