The Bride Wore Custom Chloé and Her Grandmother’s Yellow Diamond Earrings for Her Coastal California Wedding

For the table settings, they chose green and blue Ginori plates, black Oaxacan chargers, Belgian linens, French flatware, and a mix of glass and wood tables anchored by three-foot-tall candles from Metre. For calligraphy, they worked with Gino Belassen, a friend of theirs and an artist and gallerist in Phoenix. Amber Moon took Gino’s designs and transcribed, formatted, and printed everything from the invitations to the caviar spoons, menus, the website, merchandise, and more.

“Connor and I were committed to keeping things local and personal,” Maddi says. For food and drinks, they worked with Bricolage and Star & Bones to re-create cocktails from Connor’s Austin bar, Garage, and his restaurant, Comedor. They also worked with their friend, local sommelier Jesse Salazar. The cakes were from Maddi’s childhood bakery, Icing on the Cake, in Los Gatos. Their wedding dinner was by Componere. A final touch came from Evan Voyles, a “neon artist and Austin legend,” who created a custom neon sign with lyrics from their first dance song, “Thank You” by Led Zeppelin, says Maddi.

The two held their wedding on October 4, 2025, beginning the celebrations with a Western-inspired dinner on Thursday night in the pasture at Sea Star Horse Sanctuary and a Friday night dinner at Casanova Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Maddi shares that the date and time of their wedding ceremony were “selected by [her] astrologer, Erin Waage, based on our charts.”

For the rehearsal dinner, Maddi wore a vintage lace Miu Miu dress with Miron Crosby boots with vintage Neil Lane diamond earrings (courtesy of Paster), and later slipped on a white leather jacket from My Dear Tejas. When the couple and their guests went to Bud’s Bar at La Playa Hotel for a nightcap, Maddi changed into a vintage Bill Blass sheer black-and-white-striped dress from Tab Vintage. For her beauty, she wanted to “feel like myself,” with the help of makeup artists Lauren Gott and Aviva Jansen.

For their wedding fashion, Maddi worked with her friend, the stylist Jessica Paster. She sent Paster a photo from Chloé creative director Chemena Kamali’s spring show of a dress she loved, and Paster suggested they reach out to the Chloé team.

“The next thing I knew, I was in their Paris atelier, wearing the runway sample, designing and playing alongside Chemena’s extraordinary team,” says Maddi. There is a story behind the inspiration for the dress: “When my grandfather was first starting out his car business, he sold a car for a yellow diamond. Years later, my grandmother found a mate for it and designed a pair of earrings with pearls and a scallop drop detail. My grandmother gifted them to me and we actually designed the dress with them in mind,” Maddi says.

Meanwhile, Connor wore a custom white Tom Ford peak-lapel tuxedo jacket with John Lobb shoes. Maddi had cuff links made for him out of an abalone shell she had found on the beach at Stillwater Cove, where they exchanged their vows. They then had a formal ceremony with their family and friends. Connor walked in to “Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again)” by Kris Kristofferson, and Maddi walked in barefoot to “To Live is to Fly” by Townes Van Zandt, with their dog, Hobbs. Their friend John served as their officiant. After the ceremony, they had cocktails and appetizers in Maddi’s grandmother’s backyard, then had dinner, and an afterparty at Barmel.

Months later, Maddi says, “People are still talking about the weekend, which means so much. Friends send us photos of their caviar spoons in use, their name cards still sitting on their dressers, photos of them wearing the merch my mom and I made together. We are still full of gratitude to my grandmother for hosting our wedding, to all of our wonderful friends and family that came out, and to all of the wonderful artists that we got to work with on this project.”
