Take a cue from BTS’s Jung Kook: When abroad in Tokyo, it’s important to be prepared—not just sartorially, in, say, a black barn jacket, ’90s-style jeans, and a Calvin Klein T-shirt, but also snack-wise.
In today’s special installment of “In the (Snack) Bag,” Jung Kook samples some of Japan’s tastiest morsels—from the new and unfamiliar (convenience-store crème brûlée, anyone?) to beloved favorites like prepackaged peach-and-whipped-cream sandwiches… although he’s more partial to the strawberry variety.
Jung Kook is a tough but fair snack critic, and though he’s not generally prone to comfort-eating, he does admit to reaching for ramen when he’s feeling down. (That, he notes, is the general effect of performing the song “Boy in Luv,” which he says brings up “so much sadness, but also so many good memories. It’s a song that reminds me of a lot.”)
And when it comes to what snack best represents Jung Kook? The singer likens himself to grape-flavored Pachi Pachi Panic Popping Candy, because “you don’t know where it’s going…it feels fresh every time.” We fully agree…and is anyone else now desperate to get their hands on some Japanese candy?
