For the Met Gala 2026, Zoë Kravitz—who attended for the 11th time—walked the garden-inspired carpet clad in Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello (she’s been an ambassador of the house for years) and Jessica McCormack jewelry, along with a piece of sentimental jewelry—her gorgeous new engagement ring from Harry Styles, with its dazzling east-west cushion-cut stone.
Kravitz’s guipure-lace dress, dyed black and worn unlined, featured a basque waist—a figure-hugging bodice that drops low over the hips—creating a silhouette that’s fast become one of the hottest bridal looks of 2026 so far. On her feet were a pair of black Romy slingback pumps.
The aforementioned jewelry had a big ask upon it (to distract from her engagement rock), so McCormack dressed Kravitz in a suite of “Cry Baby” pieces, including asymmetric diamond-drop earrings and a cocktail ring. Both feature hammered gold eyes with diamond pupils, and the earrings appear to “cry” pear and baguette-cut diamond tears. “I wouldn’t say we set out to reference surrealism directly, but it naturally found its way into the process,” says McCormack of referencing the “Fashion is Art” dress code. “Artists such as Man Ray and Dalí, who explored the eye as a symbol of perception and consciousness, were a subtle influence.”
As for the beauty brief? “We kept coming back to restraint,” makeup artist Nina Park says. (Park has been prominent in the current cultural conversation because of her famed blurred-lip look, as worn by Kravitz and other attendees including Laura Harrier and Lily-Rose Depp.) Starting with skincare, Park used SK-II’s Treatment Mask and Essence to create a hydrated skin base. “There’s a subtle reference to Renaissance portraiture, more in the feeling than anything literal,” explains Park. “Soft light, diffused edges, a natural flush that feels like it lives within the skin.”
“From there, everything is diffused,” Park continues. “There is a flush that feels like it’s coming from within. There’s a quietness to it, but it still holds up on camera.” Lips were finished off with L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Satin Lipstick shade Divine Wine, their expanse sumptuous and full, with the cupid’s bow effortlessly yet expertly blurred.
