Taylor Swift has a few beauty signatures that she expertly deploys: that signature red lip, feline eyeliner flick, bangs of all body and length. But last night, when cheering the New York Knicks to a historic comeback victory against the San Antonio Spurs, Swift chose to wear her luckiest hairstyle.
The pop star sat courtside with Este and Alana Haim, twinning in their customized bootleg Knicks tees: emblazoned with “Stevie Nicks” across the chest in team colors. Her fashions otherwise were totally as one would expect: cut-out black Area jeans, Versace chain sandals, a Dior bucket bag, a Shay Diamond necklace, and of course, her Kindred Lubeck engagement ring from fiancé Travis Kelce. She also sported a new manicure: a sweet sky blue set decorated with little clouds.

Swift wore her hair in a fishtail braid, tied up with a team colors blue scrunchie. Very 2016-coded, but also intrinsically tied to the pop star’s personal victories. Swift has worn her hair in both a long intricate plait and cute braided pony to some of her most significant events: For the 2024 Super Bowl, she swept her hair into a high ponytail, tendrils of braids through her longer lengths. Making her way to the field when the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious over the San Francisco 49ers, Swift shared a snog with Kelce: that image, committed to celebrity-PDA history, shows her braids in all their glory.
